You may have recently moved nearby, are visiting the area, or are ‘touring’ around looking for a friendly place to worship. We’re glad you came to this site. We hope you find answers to your questions, get a sense of who we are, and what to expect if you spend some time with us.
Stoney Creek United Church weekly services begin at 10:00 a.m. The warm and friendly reception begins inside the main entrance at our Welcome Desk, where you, your family and friends will be greeted, and then helped with orientation and general information if requested.
Seating is ample in our beautiful Sanctuary. There is always someone at the door to welcome you and hand out the weekly bulletin. Our worship services are special. Relevant, upbeat sermons that nourish your soul are provided in a traditional format, so that all understand, appreciate, and respond to the message. Wonderful choir music intersperses the service, under the leadership of our talented and home-grown Music and Worship Arts Director, Andrew Poaps. Andrew grew up in the church, while attending RL Hislop, Orchard Park and McMaster. After a few years leading church choirs out of town, he has returned to his roots in Stoney Creek.
Each week, after the service, refreshments and fellowship are offered in our auditorium.
Special Needs
Visiting a new church for the first time is a leap of faith. Even more so if you have special needs. Rest assured that Stoney Creek United Church is a welcoming environment, both in its people and its facilities.
Accessibility
Wheelchair Access – starts at the Atrium doors on Lake Ave. From this entrance there is access to the atrium, washroom and CE Auditorium. A chair lift provides access from this level up to the Sanctuary as well downstairs to the Fireside room and church offices.
Sound
Amplified hearing aids are available in the Sanctuary prior to Sunday service. Please ask your door greeter on the way in.
Vision
Large print copies of the bulletin and the hymns are available from the door greeters. If you would like to reserve a large print copy of the worship service and hymns, please notify the office at 905-662-4963 x221.
